Abstract This is a conceptual work about the form-finding of hybrid tensegrity structure. The structure was obtained from combination arch-supported membrane systems and diamond-type systems. By combining these two types structures, resulting system features “tensile-integrity” property cables together with what we call “floating-bending” arches, term which intended to recall words “floating-compression” introduced by Kenneth Snelson, father tensegrities. Two approaches in calculations were followed, Matlab implementation simple model comprising standard constant-stress membrane/cable elements so-called stick-and-spring for analysis commercial software WinTess, used conjunction Rhino Grasshopper. case study T3 floating-bending tensile-integrity explored, that much larger enclosed volume comparison conventional prisms. structural design an outdoor pavilion 6 m height carried out considering ultimate service limit states. shows structures are feasible, opening way introduction suitable optimization procedures this type structures.
